SEXUAL DEVIANCY IS PROPORTIONAL TO PORNOGRAPHY USE
The consumption of adult content may have a measurable influence on sexual orientation,
with emerging research suggesting that frequent pornography viewers exhibit higher rates of bisexuality.
These
findings come from an extensive new study conducted by xHamster, one of the internet's most visited adult entertainment
platforms, which analyzed viewing habits and self-reported sexual identities across a substantial sample of 11,000
users.
The research, officially titled ... "Report on Digital Sexuality", presents compelling data indicating a direct correlation
between porn consumption frequency and bisexual identification. In other words, "the more porn you watch, the
greater your
statistical likelihood of being attracted to multiple genders".
Breaking down the demographics, the study offers some surprising revelations about porn viewership in the United States.
While the largest segment ... a significant 67.77% identifies as heterosexual, a notable 22.36%
describe themselves
as bisexual. Perhaps even more unexpected is the finding that 1.09% of adult content consumers identify as asexual,
a phenomenon sometimes colloquially referred to as "sexual anorexia" in certain media portrayals. Meanwhile,
only 4.05% of respondents identified as exclusively gay or lesbian, suggesting that porn consumption patterns
may differ substantially across sexual orientation groups.
The study's most provocative findings emerge when examining the relationship between viewing
frequency and sexual identity.
Among casual viewers who engage with porn approximately once weekly, 13.09% identify as bisexual.
This percentage
climbs steadily with increased consumption ... i.e., those indulging a few times weekly show a bisexual
identification rate of 19.73%.
Daily viewers demonstrate even higher numbers at 23.01%, while the most
dedicated consumers, accessing adult
content multiple times daily, top the charts with 27.46% identifying as bisexual. These
figures present a clear
ascending pattern linking consumption volume with bisexual self-identification.
This correlation raises important questions about the nature of sexual orientation and media
influence. According to Alex Hawkins, xHamster's Vice President who spoke with The Post about these findings, "While we
can demonstrate correlation, we cannot definitively prove causation."
Hawkins suggests a potential
explanation: "Regular exposure to diverse sexual content may expand viewers' understanding of their own desires.
Frequent porn users might find themselves reacting to scenarios outside their previously assumed orientation,
leading to self-reflection like 'That actually appeals to me ... perhaps my sexuality is more fluid than I
realized.'"
For Hawkins, one of the study's most surprising aspects was discovering just how prevalent bisexuality appears
to be among porn consumers. "These findings mirror what we see in broader society," he notes. "Just as you
cannot necessarily identify someone's bisexuality based solely on their current partner, we have historically
underestimated the size of the bisexual community among our users." The data suggests that bisexuality exists on a
spectrum that may be more common than conventional wisdom acknowledges.
And for those dedicated adult content enthusiasts who helped generate these statistics?
Well, as the research demonstrates ... when it comes to understanding sexual diversity among porn consumers, the sample
size (and by extension, the implications) prove quite significant indeed.
