GRAPE SEED EXTRACT MAY DECREASE TUMOR INITIATION, MORTALITY

An animal study examining liver tumor formation to determine whether use of "grape seed proanthocyanidin extract" (GSPE) could intervene in initiation and progression of cancer found that those animals given GSPE had fewer tumors following DMN exposure.

Researchers stated that GSPE exposure had fewer tumors following DMN exposure. Researchers stated that GSPE exposure may influence all three stages (initiation, promotion and progression) of liver carcinogenesis.
