MEDICINE
IS MODERN MEDICINE A SHAM?
from the desk of Joseph Patrick Jakubal
The "white coat" once stood for "courage". It was a time
when doctors protected people from harm, and were guided by "conscience" - not "orders".
We used to obtain "knowledge" through "humility", not
"hierarchy"; our commitments came from "suffering", not "signatures". But this bond broke.
Medicine stopped being about "service" and became more about "following rules".
This change started long before the pandemic. It crept in under names like
"efficiency" and "safety." Hospitals turned into bureaucracies. Universities chased funding. Doctors
became employees of unseen bosses. The key question - "What is best for this patient?" - got replaced with
"Is this allowed?"
People didn't see the chains forming around them. To outsiders, doctors still seemed
independent. But to insiders, the leash was tightening. "Grants" controlled "thoughts"
... "Algorithms" replaced "judgment" ... "Healing" became about
"billing codes". By the time anyone noticed, the transformation was nearly complete.
SCIENCE CAPTURED
The 20th century brought miracles ... antibiotics, imaging, organ
transplants. But each triumph made us depend more on the systems funding it.
Agencies meant to protect the public became revolving doors for industry.
Journals stopped sharing ideas and "guarded" ideologies. "Follow the science" came
to mean "follow the approved version."
The irony? Modern censorship did not require "book burnings" ... it used
"algorithms". Search engines and social media decided which truths were acceptable. A paper
could vanish not by debate but by being hidden.Careers ended in silence, not scandal.
The worst heresy wasn't being wrong - it was being early.
In this system, obedience became "professionalism." Medical students
learned to comply, not think. Residencies rewarded deference. Review boards killed
curiosity in the name of safety. The result: clinicians "fluent in rules" but "illiterate in
courage".
PANDEMIC REVELATION
In 2020, the system showed its true face. A global crisis justified
control. Bureaucrats ordered treatments from offices far from patients. Editors and tech
executives defined "acceptable science." Doctors using cheap, proven drugs were called "dangerous".
The moral wounds from those years will echo. We saw patients die alone because policies demanded it. We
were told to prioritize rules over conscience, metrics over mercy. Yet in that darkness, something
stirred - the old "instinct to heal", even when forbidden. That defiance began . . . the Great Medical
Awakening.
COST OF COMPLIANCE
Every "act of obedience" has a "moral cost". In "calmer times", it is "bureaucracy". However, in "crisis times", it is "blood". Many
doctors, trapped by fear, told themselves they were "helping" by "following orders". But "medicine without
conscience" is "cruelty by protocol".
Obeying unjust rules is easy ... living with the memory is not. The
sleepless nights were not from exhaustion ... they were from "shame". We realized "burnout" was
often the body rebelling against moral betrayal.
Healing started with "confession." Doctors spoke not of "treatments"
but of "guilt" - about patients they could not save due to policies and truths they could not share
(for fear of losing funding). From these talks came something radical: forgiveness.
Only by admitting "complicity" could we rebuild.
"integrity".
INDEPENDENT DOCTORS RISE
Every "captured system" breeds "resistance".
Worldwide, doctors who refused to "bow" started new networks - small at
first, then global. They built clinics treating patients by "evidence and ethics", not
orders.
They founded journals publishing suppressed research. They formed alliances driven by principle, not
profit.
Groups like the "Independent Medical Alliance" became "shelters for consciences".
They reminded doctors that their "right to heal" comes from their "oath to life", not institutions.
These doctors were mocked, censored, punished ... but each attack proved their point.
Patients sensed authenticity and followed. Trust shifted from logos
to names. When people saw that the "most persecuted" doctors were often the ones "saving lives",
the official story cracked.
The independent doctor is not an ideologue. He is the return of the
original healer ... practical, caring, and brave. He treats "people", not "populations". He
"listens" more than "lectures". He "doubts" more than "declares".
In his defiance lies "medicine's redemption".
UNLEARNING OBEDIENCE
Freedom in medicine is a "mental shift", not a slogan. To rebuid, we
first had to "unlearn obedience". Generations of hierarchy taught us to confuse humility with
silence. The senior doctor's word was "law". Guidelines were commandments. "Questioning"
meant "career suicide".
But healing needs discernment, not submission". True humility means
seeing truth even when it challenges authority. The "new doctor" does not mistake "consensus" for
"correctness". He knows "integrity" sometimes requires "standing alone".
This unlearning is not quick or comfortable. It means facing a hard
truth i.e., "doctors surrendered their autonomy". No institution could enslave us without our
cooperation. Once we see that, freedom becomes permanent.
BURIED SCIENCE
The pandemic sped up an old pattern ... burying inconvenient science.
Early treatment data, nutrition studies, natural immunity talks were never "disproven" ... they
were "suppressed". Researchers whose work threatened "corporate or political interests" saw
papers retracted and reputations ruined.
But truth is resilient. When journals shuttered doors, independent platforms
opened. When algorithms censored ... doctors shared data through encrypted channels. An underground
network of researchers verified findings, running "real world" studies (without permission).
Many ideas once called "misinformation" are now quietly accepted as true.
Efforts to control reality backfired ... teaching a generation to accept current medical doctrine
"without questioning".
HEALING THE HEALERS
The emotional damage runs deep. It is not just "clinical" ... it is
"spiritual". Many of us faced the awful truth ... we have been part of a system that
harms those we mean to help. Recovery required honesty, not new rules.
They met in small groups ... no slideshows, no admins ... just to speak "truth". And, from these grew
something medicine forgot: empathy among doctors. They learned to hear confessions "without
judgement" ... turning "guilt" into "wisdom".
This is how the profession heals ... through "moral renewal", not
"institutional reforms". To "heal the healer" is to remind him medicine is not a career but a covenant. Once remembered, no bureaucrat can erase it.
BEYOND ALGORITHMS
Technology must be reclaimed. AI promises efficiency but risks "replacing
judgment". Algorithms know data, not compassion. They predict death but do not understand
suffering. Run by bureaucracies, they become digital tyrants ... monitoring every clinical
choice.
But the same tech (guided by conscience) can liberate. AI can
democratize research, expose corruption, free doctors from paperwork. The difference? Who
codes it, and with what values.
Medicine beyond algorithms does not "reject progress" ... it "redefines it". Machines should assist, not absolve. Earth’s smartest tool is still the conscience of a free doctor.
ETHICS OF FREEDOM
Freedom is not a luxury ... it is "medical foundation". Without it,
"healing becomes administration".
Rediscovering freedom starts with honesty - telling patients the full truth, even when it contradicts
official policy.
True ethics cannot be "outsourced" to committees. It lives in the
space between two people deciding together what risks to take. Every "informed" consent is
"civilization"; every coercion destroys it.
The pandemic showed how easily ethics become enforcement. But,
it also showed the power of conscience that will not yield. The awakened doctor knows moral
responsibility cannot be delegated. Ethical practice guards freedom itself.
BUILDING A NEW SYSTEM
As old institutions crumble, a parallel system grows. Independent
clinics, transparent journals, decentralized trials, cross-border alliances emerge everywhere. They are
the hidden network beneath "captured medicine" - alive, flexible, and unstoppable.
Here, research is open-source. Data belongs to patients. Dialogue is
sacred. Young doctors learn "integrity" before protocol. This movement's conferences buzz with
energy ... the thrill of "rediscovered purpose".
Economically, it is cooperation over competition. Doctors share
resources. Patients invest in care. Communities fund research that serves them. Medicine returns to its
original currency: "trust".
The establishment cannot ignore this. It tries to fake the
authenticity it mocked, but sincerity cannot be copied. This "new system" cannot be perfect - it works
because it is "moral". It proves that "care" needs no "coercion", and science thrives when freed from
ownership.
COVENANT RENEWED
Every healer inherits a "covenant" - the "unwritten vow" that a doctor's
"first loyalty" is to "truth" and the life before him. In the "age of obedience", that vow was broken.
However, "covenants do not expire"; they "wait to be remembered".
The Great Medical Awakening is that memory. It is when thousands of
doctors worldwide chose "integrity over approval". It is the vow that "no system will ever again stand
between healer and healed".
Renewal comes through love for patients, truth, and the sacred act of healing. Practicing free medicine is praying with your hands. As those hands return to their purpose, the profession heals the world that tried to silence it.
MEANING OF THE AWAKENING
The "Great Medical Awakening" is not a movement - it is a "moral correction".
It is "medicine finding its soul". It asks every doctor, researcher, and citizen: Will you
serve "truth" or "comfort"?
History will not remember this era for "censorship". It will remember
"courage" - doctors who would not bow, patients who spoke up, alliances rising from exile to rebuild
science in the open.
The old world of "captured medicine" is collapsing. The new one is
already here ... in every honest talk, every uncensored study, every act of compassion needing no
permission.
The awakening is not "coming" ... it is here!
